Per que s'estengui i s'entengui que arreu del món existeix una internacional anti-policia que: no aplaudirà mai la seva feina i que senyalarà sempre la infinitat de casos d'abusos, corporativisme-encobriment, etc..

Potser queda molt acadèmic-reformista però, què tal intentar demostrar la legitimitat i viabilitat que socialment podria aconseguir tenir un procès de replegament/decreixement progressiu policial? Per exemple si classifiquéssim en categories les tasques que duu a terme la policia i que la població considera legitimes/il·legítimes, imprescindibles/prescindibles, amables/no amables, funcionals/disfuncionals, etc.. segurament ens sorprendríem. Potser, si totes aquestes tasques en comptes de ser tasques policials, les duguessin a terme funcionaris diferenciats, les funcions policials que són essencialment exercir la violència no podrien quedar mai justificades. Suposo que és precisament per això que als cossos policials els cal -com als exèrcits i les seves missions humanitàries- assumir funcions que semblen més aviat tasques de treballadors socials que de la policia, per tal de mostrar-se polifacètica i necessària i així legitimar altres funcions més impopulars. Desmuntem-ho!

So that it is understood that around the world there exists an international anti-police that will never applaud their work and will always point out the infinite cases of abuses, corporate cover-ups, etc...

This might sound very academic-reformist, but how about trying to demostrate the legitimacy and viability that a progressive process of bringing down/decreasing police activity could attain on a social level? For example, if we categorically classify the duties that the police carry out that are considered legitimate/illegitimate, necessary/unnecessary, friendly/unfriendly, functional/dysfunctional etc. by the general population, we would surely be surprised. Maybe if all these duties were taken on by differentiated officials instead of being jobs for the police, the functions of the police that entail the use of violence would become unjustifiable. I suppose it’s for this exact reason that the police forces are required – like armies and their humanitarian missions - to take on functions that seem more like jobs for social workers than the police, in order to make them appear multifaceted and necessary and thus legitimise other, less popular functions. Let’s dismantle it!
